On 21/05/2015, at 12.00 M.D, Nurses of all Federal Hospitals (PIMS, CDA, Poly Clinic, NIRM) did joint protest with employees (Nurses, Doctors, Paramedical staffs) of Federal General Hospital, NIH, Hospital Islamabad for their regularization of Jobs at front of Press Club.

Request For Hiring Concern of PIMS Hospital Employees

Subject: REQUEST FOR HIRING CONCERN OF PIMS HOSPITAL EMPLOYEES.

Your excellency Sir,

With regards, it is stated that PIMS Hospital, Islamabad has allocated around 3.0 billion annual budget as per approval of Finance Department, Government of Pakistan. PIMS Hospital is a federal institute in which employees belong from all over Pakistan. The majority of the employees has left their home towns for serving the humanity. PIMS Admin says that there is no budget / fund to facilitate even those deserving employees come here from other provinces to serve humanity. The deserving employees have left their home towns from Sindh, KPK, Balouchistan, Gilgith Bulchistan etc. But, they are unable to get the opportunity of accommodation to bring their families. The preference for the grant of house hiring is given to majority of local employees.

Hence, we request in your honour and concerned authorities that to provide the opportunity of house hiring to the deserving employees from belong to far away areas, to decrease their feeling of apprehension regarding their families in a result they will be able to serve in a better way.

§  “PIMS” is a welfare hospital providing health coverage to the poor and needy patients of Photohar region, interior Punjab, Gilgat Bulchistan, Azad Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtoonkhawa, Hazara Division, peripheral areas of Rawalpindi andIslamabad at the cheapest cost.

Be merciful on poor patients, Nation and Homeland Pakistan

 With profound respect that a huge welfare hospital “Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS)” consist of Maternal & Child Hospital, Children Hospital, Burns Care Center, IH, Liver Transplant, Cardiology Center with strength of 1146 bedded, along with four different academic Institutes College of Medical Technology, College of Nursing,  School of Nursing and Quaid e Azam Postgraduate Medical College, is providing health care facility to the poor and marginalized people at the cheapest cost. All the employees of PIMShospital have painstaking reservation on SZABMU Act – 2013, are as under:

§   Medical Colleges are upgraded into Medical & Health Sciences Universities, Not the hospital or services side, always.(References: DUHS Karachi, LUHMS Jamshoro, UHS Lahore, KMU Peshawer, SMBBMU Larkana, Federal University Ordinance (FUO – 2002) and HEC Guideline criteria for establishment of Universities)

§   PIMS is a welfare hospital providing health care facilities around 13,00,000 patients per annum to the poor and needy patients at the cheapest cost. By converting it into autonomous body; definitely, it will increase the cost of health care services to generate the revenue, which directly effect on affordability for poor patients. (Reference: Statistics record of PIMS 2013-14)

§   In autonomous body, the Civil Servant Rights Act – 73 of PIMS employees will be damaged under the SZABMU Act – 2013. The 99% of the employees of welfare hospital “PIMS” have NOT opted to the SZABMU. (Reference: Statistics record ofPIMS 2013-14)

§   All the provinces (Punjab, Sindh, Baluchistan, Khyber Pakhtoon Khawa, Azad Kashmir etc.) will lose their allocated quota seats through FPSC at PIMS, Islamabad.

§   “PIMS” Hospital is already an attached hospital with Federal Medical & Dental College, Islamabad. (Reference: PMDC Medical Colleges and attached hospitals list)

We all employees of welfare Hospital “PIMS” humbly request in your honour to be pleased pass the already tabled amendment bill – 2014 of SZABMU from both honorable houses National Assembly and Senate of Pakistan in order to separate the “PIMS” as an attached hospital with SZABMU for teaching purpose, under the administration of concerned Federal Ministry Government of Pakistan, Islamabad; in favour of million of poor and needy Patients.
