Government of Pakistan, M/o Religious Affairs & Interfaith Harmony has been issued the Notification No. F.1(1)/AD/(Isl)2015 Dated 21-Mar-2016
It was notified vide Gazette Notification No.2(10)/ADG(R&R)/78, dated 26th March, 1979, 12th March, 1985, 29th June 2004 and 24th Sept. 2008 for general information and guidance that the correct Spelling of the name of the Holy Prophet of Islam (Peace Be Upon Him) should always be written in all official and non-official record as “Muhammad” صلى الله عليه وسلم
However, the same is again notified for the general information and guidance that the spellings of the Holy Prophet’s Name other than those shown above or in the abbreviated forms should never be used.
